My Longemity Road Trip

Author: Melanie Jones

Hi crystal and water lovin peeps, I’ll be kicking off my first Longemity blog by sharing a little about myself and the road trip to Longemity.

My name is Melanie, and I by definition am a crystal, and gemstone junkie. I whole heartedly believe in paying it forward, setting intentions, spirit animals, the law of attraction and sacred geometry. I adore the moon and the sun and I are kindred spirits.

I love my family, (yes even the weird ones, we all have them) and I strongly believe in the power of the breath (Pranayama). I also believe that healing is possible through crystals, chakras, and by consuming gem water. I like to believe that all woman are goddesses, I meditate when time permits and I am addicted to Nag Champa incense and can easily burn a kilo of its gorgeous scent every 8 weeks.

My Longemity journey started at the age of 6 when we set off touring around Australia with my mother, grandmother and grandfather, and my schooling was done by correspondence over a CB radio with many of my lessons out in nature.

It was whilst out fossicking with my grandfather I found the most amazing stone and it took my breath away. It was a piece of Mookaite, soft to touch, with its creamy yellow and white bands of colour and subtle kisses of soft pink.

On arriving back at the van park for lunch I shared my new find with my grandmother who took it into her hands ever so gently, closed her palms around it with a truly loving embrace, and then brought it up close to her lips where she whispered words of encouragement to it.

She then dropped it directly into my glass of drinking water, as she told me an enchanting story about crytsals and gem stones, and how they had special powers. She told me that by putting crystals into water, the magical properties of the stones would be passed on into the water making it come alive, and that healers throughout the ages would do this to heal one spiritually, emotionally and physically.

She continued to tell me that my stone had chosen me, and that it was a gift from the earth, she told me that it would protect me, keep me safe and would keep any wrinkles at bay, (which at the age of 6 I thought was terrifying). So with this my love and respect for crystals, gems and gem water was born.

Fast forward 35 years and I had run and sold two successful small business, put three kids through school and had a husband who travelled away 30 weeks of the year for the past twenty years.

I found with two of our three children grown and no longer at home it was time to pursue another life journey. I knew I wanted to do something that would benefit others. But benefit who or whom I didn't know, and when it came to how, well I didn't know that either.

So it was whilst flicking through old photos I remembered that day, the day I was introduced to crystals and my crazy grandmothers crystal elixirs and a wave of memories came flooding back, with this the inception of my business was born.

I decided that I wanted to build and share a spiritually rooted business, I wanted to create lifelong connections, inspire others and be inspired.  I wanted to promote better health, relaxation, enlightenment, compassion, gratitude and love with the world.

But most of alI I wanted to share my love, my passion and my belief with others about the super powers of crystals through gem water. With its vibrational energy guiding us on a journey of self-healing, wisdom, self-awareness, love and spiritual growth as my grandmother shared with me so many years earlier. So with this intent Longemity was born.

Longemity has been nearly 2 years in the making, we have patents and design registrations in over 30 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Europe, China, Japan and the US and we ship worldwide.

I am ever so very grateful for my journey so far, it has been challenging, exhausting and arduous to say the least. I have made new friends here in Australia and abroad, I have mastered new business skills, and yes, of course I have made mistakes along the way.

Self-doubt accompanies any new entrepreneur and I was not immune to this either, but here I stand at the threshold about to leap into the abyss of the unknown with the launch of my new business and I am proud to say I have survived through all the uncertainty.

I must say that I couldn't have achieved my dreams without the love and support of my family and friends, especially my husband Murray who has been my best friend, my biggest supporter and my therapist for longer than I can remember. So to you my wonderful husband, and all of my family and friends past and present, I say thank you and I love you, for your encouragement, your support and your truthfulness, even in times when I did not want to hear it.

And to you my new friends, my new Longemity family, reading my first blog, I hope you will love and benefit from all that is Longemity as much as I have loved every moment of the journey bringing it to you.

Translation: May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

Why not tell me about your biggest challenge, success or fail?  I would love to hear about them and share them with others. Let's support each other though this journey called life.
